Whitcraft Learning Solutions™ is owned and operated by Connie and John Whitcraft, who have a combined 60+ years in education and business excellence.

Based in San Diego, California, they work with students and executives all over the world, either in person (local to San Diego) or remotely.

Connie Whitcraft Specialities: Academic coaching with emphasis on English, reading, history, writing and learning disabilities; manuscript editing and résumé writing services.

John Whitcraft Specialities: Academic coaching with emphasis on math, science, engineering, photojournalism, electronics, programming, and computer sciences. John is also AutoCad Level II Certified.

 

Why Whitcraft Learning Solutions™?

The biggest difference in our approach – whether we're doing SAT test prep, helping a student overcome dyslexia, or helping an executive communicate more effectively – is that we focus on learning as a whole. This is the fundamental core of our services and the reason parents from countries where academics are vital seek us out.

Probably the easiest way to explain this is to look at something like test prep. Most tutors focus on passing the test, and that's it. This doesn't help the student at all when he or she moves on. We've met people who scored well on the SAT, yet cannot write well. This is the classic “teaching to the test” that has undermined the U.S. education system.

Instead (again, using test prep as an example), we prepare students for the test, but we also teach learning. Students leave not only ready for the test, but also better equipped for the challenges that lie beyond.

The same could be said about our executive work...or anything else we do. If executives come to us for help in writing a more effective résumé and cover letter (a common scenario), we help them become more effective written communicators – they'll write a better résumé for sure, but they'll also write better e-mails, memos, and letters.
